What to expect from the Best Budget 10-inch Tablets
While you won’t get the display & audio quality you get on more expensive 10-inch tablets, you can still expect good quality products that give you a lot for your money (if you know where to look…).
Quality & Casing
Plastic is the material of choice here. While it’s not as sexy nor solid as metal, you’ll still have a good quality product that will survive minor assaults. Most cheap 10-inch tablets will feel solid in your hands and won’t bend.
As for the weight, you can expect a rather lightweight tablet, but nothing that compares to more expensive ones. They are pretty much all over 1 pound. Not that it’s uncomfortable to use, but holding them in one hand might be annoying after a while.
Display
This is where most manufacturers compromise to make the cheapest 10-inch tablets. I’m not saying that you’ll end up with a bad screen, but you won’t have a premium display with high-resolution.
While most will have a high-resolution display, some of the best budget 10-inch tablets will break the rule and come with an HD screen. It won’t usually be as bright and vivid as their more expensive competitors, but you still get a pretty good screen for the price.
Performance
Opening a lot of applications or heavy gaming is not an option here. You won’t get enough RAM to open many apps at the same time and won’t get enough processing power to run heavy application. Does that mean you should dismiss these cheap 10-inch tablets? Not at all. They’re still good for reading news, browsing the web and playing light games.
Audio
Except for the very best ones, this is an area where most manufacturers made sacrifices. You won’t get a loud enough audio to enjoy movies or loud music. With most of them, if you want to enjoy multimedia content, you’re better off using your earphones.
Other aspects
Here, the cameras are not bad for video-calls, but I don’t recommend that you use these budget 10-inch tablets to capture the important moments in your life. Most of them are definitely not good enough to give you a bright and clear picture.
As for the battery, most of them offer a decent battery life, the top ones being clearly better.

Top 9 Best Budget 10-inch Tablets
1 – Samsung Galaxy Tab A – 10″ HD
“All-Around Best Budget Tablet”
While still being a budget 10-inch tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A is a little more expensive than the others cheap 10-inch tablets on this list. But so good for the price, I had to put it here…
There are very few bad things to say about this tablet. A nice body that supports a bright HD display, something you won’t find on most tablets here. Add to that a pretty good audio system that won’t require you to wear earphones and you’ve got a great video-watching tablet.
If you take it on the road, you won’t have to worry about the battery since it lasts easily a full day. And it has a good rear-camera for when you need to take pictures on the go.
Samsung definitely made one of the best cheap 10-inch tablets here!

2 – Asus ZenPad 10 – 10″
“Solid Design & Design & Audio”
The Asus ZenPad 10 has a design that is a bit plain, but solid. It’s obviously plastic, but it’s still strong and doesn’t bend when you put pressure on it. I do like it.
The screen is pretty decent for a cheap 10-inch tablet. While it’s not HD, color rendering and brightness are quite good, as are viewing angles. So despite the low-resolution, it’s actually not a bad product to watch movies.
On the audio side, it’s actually quite respectable. The speakers’ position is pretty good and they produce decent quality sound. When I pushed them a little, I found that they indeed were quite loud. Of course, it’s not top-of-the-line speakers, but it’s definitely one of the qualities of the Asus ZenPad 10.
Performance is in line with the others budget 10-inch tablets. It does what it has to do. So browsing, watching movies and playing light games is fine, but as soon as you push it – let’s say when playing heavier games – you’ll start to feel the lack of power.

3 – Amazon Fire HD 10 – 10″ HD
“Low-Cost with HD Display”
The Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet is one the best cheap 10-inch tablets in terms of specifications. It has a full HD display that is pleasing to the eyes, and clearly better than most of the competition.
This Fire HD 10 runs on the Amazon Fire OS which is based on the Android platform, but doesn’t have any Google Apps like others do. So, you have to rely on the Amazon Apps Store and other third-party apps store, which can be a problem if for some.
It might be one of the cheapest 10-inch tablets, it’s still equipped with 32 GB of storage space. Again, something that is better than most. And you can expand the memory up to 256 GB using the microSD card slot.
The Dolby sound system is sufficient for any task, with clear audio, but I can’t say it is loud. The battery lasts up to 10 hours of continuous usage, which is pretty good. The plastic built feels sturdy enough, but I still recommend you buy a protective case.
The Amazon Fire 10 HD is a good 10-inch tablet for the price as it offers good battery life, good display, decent sound and a decent build quality. Go for it if you are okay with the forked version of Android.

4 – Lenovo Tab 4 10 – 10″
“Afforble with Good Audio”
While you don’t get the best display on the market, the Lenovo Tab 4 is definitely a good choice for a budget 10-inch tablet.
You get an interesting tablet that has one of the longest battery life you can find in this segment, perfect for long car rides with the kids. Add to that an impressive audio system for the price, and you’ve got a great multimedia tablet.
As I said, the display is not the best. For a cheap 10-inch, it’s not that bad, but definitely not as good as some competitors. It’s still good for watching movies, but you won’t have the high-resolution details and vibrant colors you find on others.
The design is – of course – made of plastic with a soft back that makes it easy to hold, even if at 1.1 pounds, it might become uncomfortable after a while. The quality is decent and should survive through a few bumps.
Performance-wise, there is nothing to complain about. It plays games and loads apps fine. Not the most powerful, but still very acceptable.
All-in-all, it’s a pretty good choice as one of the cheapest 10-inch tablets.

5 – Astro Tab A10 – 10″
“Basic Android Tablet with affordable price tag”
The Astro Tab A10 is one of the cheapest 10-inch tablets you can find. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is a good thing since it makes the tablet compatible with all the latest apps.
The display is not HD, but is still pretty good for the price, with good viewing angles and accurate touch response. However, under direct sunlight, the screen is almost invisible and you can easily scratch it without putting in much effort. But, everything considered, it’s still a pretty good display if you look at the price tag.
The build quality of the tablet feels good and solid in handy and you can expect it to survive accidental drops (but the display may not). Also, it is heavier than similar-sized tablets, but not by a big margin.
It is powered by an A83 processor with only 1 GB of RAM. We didn’t notice any lag while browsing the internet, playing casual games and video streaming, as long as you don’t open too many apps at the same time. The 16 GB of internal storage can be expanded using the micro SD card slot.
The company claims a battery life of 5 hours and that is true. The tablet can last 5-6 hours with moderate usage. The speaker is not impressive and not recommended for music or watching movies. Earphones would be a better choice to enjoy multimedia content.
The Astro Tab A10 is a good purchase if you want a secondary tablet for casual tasks. It is cheap, moderately effective and good value for money.

# 6 to 9 Best Budget 10-inch Tablets
6 – RCA Viking Pro – 10″
“Low-Cost 10-inch with Keyboard”
The main advantage of the RCA Viking Pro is its versatile design. It comes with a keyboard / cover, something that the others cheap 10-inch tablets don’t have. So you can use it in many modes: the tent mode is great to have it sit on a table to watch videos and the classic laptop mode is perfect to write emails. Use it in stand mode to read or check recipes, and of course, you have the choice of the standard tablet mode. But at 2.6 lbs, it’s not the most comfortable tablet to hold in hands.
The second main advantage is its price. It’s cheaper than most while offering pretty much the same quality. As one of the cheapest 10-inch tablets on the market, it does deliver good value.
The low-resolution screen is on par with the rest of the competition. Nothing to brag about, but at that price, you can’t ask for much. Still, it’s a very acceptable display to watch movies and read online. On the audio side, it’s pretty much the same. It’s definitely not impressive, but it delivers enough.
Performance-wise, it’s acceptable as well. There’s no problem playing HD movies or running light games. Of course, don’t try running the more demanding games, but otherwise it’s satisfying.

7 – Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 10 – 10″
“Great & Cheap Multimedia Tablet”
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 10 is unique and comes with its own set of features that are not common in other tablets. Its design is different from any other with a useful kickstand, and pretty loud and clear speakers that are pretty good for a budget 10-inch tablet.
The 10-inch display is of 720p HD resolution, but is still pleasing to the eyes. The tablet also comes with a 180-degree rotary 8-megapixel camera that produces decent quality pictures and videos. Definitely better than most of the competition.
The main highlight of the tablet is its battery life, with mixed use you easily get 14 hours of usage which is excellent for a tablet. The tablet also comes with the usual set of connectivity features.
The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 10 is a good choice if you are mainly looking for a tablet for reading, internet browsing and streaming, with exceptional battery life.

8 – Dragon Touch X10 – 10″
“Good for the price but heavy”
The Dragon Touch X10 has to be on this list of the best low-cost 10-inch tablets you can buy. The tablet has impressed me on many fronts. It comes with a 10-inch IPS touchscreen with a 720p resolution. It’s as good as you get for a non-HD screen in that price range. It is powered by a Cortex A7 octa-core processor that handles streaming, internet browsing and gaming superbly well.
The tablet comes with all the standard connectivity features along with a mini HDMI port that allows you to connect it to an external device like a TV. The camera output is of average quality and you can expect the battery to last 6 hours of continues usage, which is acceptable looking at the price tag.
The Dragon Touch X10 is a recommended tablet for those who want a low-cost Android tablet that checks all boxes for a good multimedia tablet, as long as you don’t mind its heavy weight.

9 – Samsung Galaxy Tab E – 10″
“Good tablet for the price”
The Samsung Galaxy Tab E is a budget tablet that comes with a 9.6-inch HD display. The display isn’t particularly impressive, making it hard on the eyes over a long period of time. The color reproduction is quite poor too.
It is powered by a 1.3GHz Spreadtrum processor which is one of the slowest among all. Coupled with 1.5GB of RAM, the tablet is not impressive when handling any task thrown at it.
On the positive side, the build quality fo the tablet is good. It feels good in the hand and the lightweight body makes it easier to carry around. The 16 GB of internal storage provides a decent amount of storage, and you can further expand the memory using the Micro SD card slot.
The battery life on the tablet is also pretty long. You can expect around 9 hours of continues video playback, which means you can get around 10-11 hours of usage with mixed tasks.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab E is an affordable tablet but missed out on performance, display and audio.
